Smarty photography

When I first discovered 'light painting', I immediately thought it was done by computer manipulation and that it took no skill whats-so-ever to do as a photographer. However, when I discovered it was all 'real', I immediately researched it further.

Thankfully, my father is a bird photographer, and I'm lucky enough to have photography equipment lying around the house. I grabbed the first digital camera i could get hold of, and tried it out. This is what it looked like:

What makes me partially love and carry on doing 'light painting' so much, is the 'Wow' factor it gives off. I never get tired of showing people 'light painting' photos'  that I have taken, and watch them query the photo, whether I manipulated the photo on photoshop or if it is actually real!

I started in 2007, and since then, I have been collecting light 'tools' non-stop. Trying to find new lights or methods of 'painting' that will give new or exciting effects.

I presently use a Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III camera, as well as a Canon 450D (or XTi) with a 24-105mm Canon lens. I also use a wired remote for both cameras, so time does not prove to be a problem with my 'painting'. The tripod I use, is a Gitzo G1325, with a Wimberly Head - Version I.
